Be Attentive to Little Blessings

Maybe Jesus has been trying to teach me to be attentive to little blessings, to grow in deeper love with His creation, or to be more observant to all of the tiny and easily overlooked things in my own life. Whatever the reason, I know that stopping to admire a beautiful shade of coral on a plant or a cute ladybug sunbathing on a fence has caused me to slow down and be grateful for the intricate beauty of nature.

He has large plans for those things! Even through your hectic work schedule or situation you may be facing, don’t run away. Run towards Jesus and take that time to spend with him. To allow him to fill you with truth. With his love, his peace, his joy, his strength. Let’s take that time today, to sit at his feet, to be strengthened, to help us in all that we do, and to remember we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

Fearing the Fall

I picture the path to follow Our Lord like a parent letting go of a child learning how to ride a bike for the first time. The child knows their parent loves them and isn’t letting go of them to watch their child fall. The parent lets go in hopes that the child can use their bravery, strength, and knowledge to carry that bike in a balanced way. When the child falls? The parent is there. When we fall –He is there.

The Heart of Home

On Earth we are all seeking a sense of home, a comforting belonging. We see promises of beauty and these promises are alluring, yet, He has chosen for us so much more than the world has promised. As Christians we are each trying our best to get to heaven one day and help others get to heaven. I often imagine heaven as this new and pristine location, a sort of untouchable mystery, a paradise that I would not recognize. Instead, we must focus on heaven as our home, a home that we will not be visiting for the first time at the moment God takes us from Earth, but a place to which we will return.
